Album Info:
A railfan buddy and I took a short trip in spring of 1980 from the Bay Area to Klamath Falls, OR to photograph the OC&E. The next day we worked our way back to Sacramento to attend Winterail, following Sosthern Pacific's Modoc Line, Western Pacific's 4th Subdivision (aka "High Line"); and WQ's mainline through the scenic Feather River Canyon. At the time we were both only 17, high school seniors, and still learning photography. We had planned to go back and shoot more of the OC&E someday -- our initial trip was on a shoestring budget so we had to account for gas, food, and film, which of course we had to conserve -- but alas, a follow-up OC&E trip never materialized. Same with our plans to shoot the Milwaukee Road before it vanished from the West... never did that either. [sigh] Too bad digital cameras weren't around then, otherwise I would have taken LOTS more images. Oh well, I still have the memories....
